In my dog photography I love to capture the dog's eyes with a huge catch light which expresses the emotions. Catch light is a photography term used to describe the specular highlight in a subject's eye from a light source.

In this case, the photographer captured the moment without needing the eyes. The dog is dark so surrounding it with light colored field makes the subject stand out. The wind that is swaying the field to the left is the reason for the emotion. I can feel the wonderful breeze and the rim lighting adds to this magic. Bravo!

The breeze was used again to convey a refreshing feeling possibly against the snow. The eyes are covered by the shaggy hair but it doesn't take anything away from the photo.
